Skylane showcases 100G DCO family at Network X

Belgium - October 2025 - Skylane Optics, leading provider of transceivers for optical communication, has unveiled its new QSFP28 100G DCO transceiver family, giving overloaded data center infrastructure a powerful boost. Designed to double the reach of conventional modules, the solution extends high-speed connectivity up to 120 kilometers — enabling operators to scale networks faster, further, and more efficiently.
By using Skylane's QSFP 100G DCO transceivers, operators can transmit data between these facilities seamlessly without the need to implement costly repeaters within their infrastructure, freeing up critical resources for other areas of their networks.
Skylane has expanded its DCO transceiver portfolio, building on its 400G ZR+ line with a new 100G family launched ahead of NetworkX Paris. The range enables operators to simplify networks by reducing the number of active elements, intermediate PoPs, and ROADMs — cutting costs, power consumption, and complexity while meeting surging demand for high-capacity, low-latency connectivity.
Available in standard and High TX variants, the 100G DCO modules support ITEMP, ITEMP AutoTune, and CTEMP AutoTune, with a CMIS version to follow. These features allow automatic wavelength selection, giving network builders faster and more flexible integration.
“By reducing infrastructure and energy needs, our DCO solutions empower operators to scale efficiently in the era of AI-driven data centres” said Sean Kitchingham, Vice President of Sales EMEAI.
